So many people...

I figured that I should go ahead and start this since I will constantly reference it in my posts. There are several types of Players or people. Now this is not just limited to Planeshift but their behavior is more easily recognized in that community. I will talk about a few:

* The true noobs: I want to begin with this for a few reasons. Mainly because of the overused insult spread across the internet. A true noob does not have to be new, I have experienced several veteran noob-types in PS, other games, and life. A noob is basically they are discouraged by work and prefer to beg for help, would rather have you show them instead of doing it themselves, parasitic they can latch on to you if you help them too much and will slowly drain your patience and valueables. If any amount of power over others is achieved, it is flaunted at all possible times.
* The Lords- These are the hard workers that have achieved much and operate on a grander scale then most. Players of other categories can be lords if they work at it. Small things make this type distinct from the maxed out powerlevelers, but it is often easy to tell. This type often drives the game and keeps it on track. In PS a common lord type is the RP lords. These are players that have become well known for the RP since they continuously work at it.
* Powerlevelers- Wish to experience all they can in a short amount of time, putting all work possible forward. Often these players experience burnout and quit play since they did not build a base for alternative activities to do after the have "maxed out".
* Casuals- These are people who are not all out but do enjoy playing on occasion for fun. While these players share goals of other types it is hard to define them since their odd schedules make achieving a longer process.
* Hoarders- an interesting category, they love gathering treasure and other objects such as money to inflate their importance. Most can be well-renown merchants. If to many occur in one area, resources can be scarce.
* Dreamers/skippers-This type, while having big ideas, can rarely pull them through to move up. Basically they follow 'fads' about what to do. One day may be mining, and the next day magic with no intention of ever returning to mining. Often causes burnout just like the powerlevelers, often this type can have a seemingly short attention span. Most players are in this group until they finally settle into a schedule. This type worships the Lords.
* The Hidden- Be very wary of this group. I am not speaking of criminals lurking in the shadows, this type can have intentions either way. I myself am one of this group so I shall elaborate. This type can do things in-game and in real life if you met one, that can be considered extraordinary. Often they do not flaunt how powerful they really are but often will pull their knowledge out when they feel a need. This knowledge is highly guarded. In fact it is rarely shared. Often it is so broad that everything must be found by ones self. They can overcome any boundary set even against amazing odds. A decent example of this is after careful observation, skills don't even matter to them any more. They could easily best most players more advanced then them in a certain skill. Overall it is a type of personality. Often they are great tacticians, persuasionists, well concealed, and... poor. Do to the nature of this type money is always an issue. As said above, be very careful of this group, few exist but most are to be feared or respected. Luckily most don't have evil intentions since it would not fit their style. If you are friends with one, be prepared to back up some interesting schemes.
*Cheaters-this type tries to get out of thing by cheating and deceit. While most are crushed early a few always exist in power. Not to be confused with the hidden's knowledge.

Time for some fun...

Don't you just love some of the PS players? I especially love the ones that, despite all their hours in-game, know nothing. For example, here is an interesting dialogue from earlier today, Lets call him by his race, kran.
It takes place between a kran and me when he came up to try and mess with me. I was working on some iron ores with one in my hand when he approached me:

[Kran]: Ha Noob! Can't get anything better than a rock as a weapon? I have two claymores #$^%!!! Hit me I dare you.

[Erisnas (me)]: ...

[Kran]: THATS RIGHT! YA CAn't hit MEEa!*

[System]: You hit Kran for 57.08 damage

[Kran]: Heay! I didn't accept anything, how you hit me?!?

[System]: You hit Kran for 48.03 damage.

[Kran]: Hey! Stop hitting me!! I didn't accept! HOW YOU DOING THAT?!?!

[Erisnas]: QUIZOR!!!

[System]: You kill Kran.

Now to make sure he understood the lesson that I so generously taught him, I paid a visit to the Death Realm.

[Kran]: DUDE! HOW DID YOU KILL ME WHEN I DIDN'T ACCEPT?!? LOSER, NOOB @#$%@ *%@# $#$@ (Profanity continues for a while)

He obviously didn't get the message the first time...

[Kran]: hehe...um... Why are you glowing?

[Erisnas]: QUIZOR!!!

Picking up on what is left undone...

I am finishing off some of the projects that got lost and working on my current ones while I have the chance. Therefore: I shall get all the pictures I have promised below. I am restarting the PS "The rumors begin to spread..." RP More info.
I will see if I can purchase some rare-earth magnets tomorrow as well as working on a way to solder the pop cans. If done correctly it will look more natural and appear to be just a pack of soda (I am thinking Dr. Pepper...). Ideally if it just looks like a pack then it increases the novelty of it use. Especially if I can get a lot of juice out of it (pun completely intended).
Probably won't post more on other projects until their completion.

Snowed in...

Due to the recent snowstorm in my area I had all day to work on my things. First located some extra wire for the 6-pack electric battery/charger. Unfortunately the roads were to bad to go and buy some more rare earth magnets to produce the electricity.
I am finishing up one of my new custom walking sticks (I often switch hobbies on and off). later today or tomorrow I will post pictures of the one I am starting and the one I am finishing. I need a few ideas for the decorative top so if there are any consistent readers please post a comment.
Now a question for PS players. What would you think of one day devoted to mundane tasks in-game? During this day you would try to make life as realistic as possible in PS: restroom, lunch, religion, etc.

Tinkering again...

I wasted most of the weekend doing some pointless (for you) things. First I have set my sights on a new 'project'. I am creating a special battery pack that looks...
like a six-pack of (insert various soda brand). Why soda? Because I have a habit of adding various 'touches' to my projects. One thing that is going to be unique about this, besides the cover, is I am working on the way to charge it. I believe I am either going to have it charged by wind power or bicycle. If it is charged by the wind I will attach the windmill to the cans in some novelty way. If it is bicycles I need to find a way that I can attach it to any bike to charge. Knowing my past experience on subjects like these... wish me luck.
Also, another (relatively) small thing I am working on is recreating a guarded item as you would see in a museum in movies. Therefor I have to:
  • Create a Plexiglas case;
  • Find some 'scenery' for the museum
  • Find some red film, lenses, and mirrors for the 'lasers'
Fairly simple to do except for the "lasers". Technically they are infared beams used to detect something the interrupts their path. I, however, do not have money for that especially for something so simple. I am shall instead channel lights from another room using mirrors. Then I shall use the lenses to focus the light into more of a beam shape. The red film is just there to increase how cool it looks. It will make sure that all the light coming from the source is red only.

So far so good...

Well it seems that the blog has been up for approximately 24 hours without any critical issues. I believe I should further explain the reason behind this blog's name. With my personality I enjoy doing a broad range of various hobbies. Unfortunately, I had issues identifying my work. I decided to label anything I have created by the label ravin'e (pronounced rav in-A) This method has several advantages distinct advantages. The main is that when me and a team work on a 'project' it is better to say "produced by ravin'e" then to list my own name instead. Perhaps I shall release some of my past 'projects' on this blog for all to see.
Many times I have been asked about various things and how I do them. Unfortunately, I cannot be more specific due to my broad range of interests. Therefore, any readers may e-mail me questions if they have any, and I shall answer them on this blog. Reading this you probably have very few questions, but as time moves on I am sure at least a few will accumulate.
Seeing as this is the second day into the blog I should start with some things of actual interest to you, even though I do know you all love technical rambling. First, of interest to the Planeshift players. I have found a small little treasure niche that can hide any treasure unless the seeker knows of the secret, see if you can find it. Next for the RS players, I am considering restarting the famous "Erisnas Pizza and Food Delivery" if any of you players are old enough to recall it. Finally, for some of the more random readers: I am looking for designs for a Ravin'e logo for this site, advertising, and my "projects" (If you haven't been wondering about the quotations yet, then we are going to have issues, even if I don't use them "that" often).
Until then I shall leave you with a list of some of my favorite websites: (no order; more updates to this shall come)

The Beginning

I have several people wish to know more about how I do things in my life, especially the more...
interesting segments of it. I have decided to create this blog for several purposes such as that, most known only to me. I shall try and develop this blog into something more fitting as time progresses to better suit its uses. For those that know me, or are just joining I will provide a brief description of a few aspects of myself: I shall start with my more well known side. Many have met me from Planeshift, Adventure Quest, and even Runescape when I have feeling like a few laughs... If you have known me from those then you will know my attitude towards those games and similar matters. Of course my life continues from there as well. Out of all my skills I mostly enjoy creating things, especially with my hands. I have worked with leather, wood, and electronics for hobbies when I am left without much else to do. I really value my skill to quickly learn a new technique or style. And those who know me most will recognize my humor, or lack there of in some circumstances. Perhaps I shall become a comedian for a hobby as well someday? I shall start sub-dividing the blog today, and defining its uses in my spare time. Until then you may reach me at termtrich12@yahoo.com.
